As your trusted Licensed Electrician in Cypress, it is our job to help you be aware of the best tips and tricks to add in your new favorite heavy duty appliance.

What size wire do you need?
This is a good question! The wire size will depend on what appliance you have and what its contanstant power draw will be. New Electric trucks can take over 80 amps of current at 240 volts. Thats some heavy usage. Welders can take just as much current easily!
Where do you want your new outlet to be located?
This can play a huge impact on the cost of your new installation. The farther from your breaker box the more expensive the new outlet will be.
Will my current breaker box work?
That is a very good question! Not all breaker boxes have room. Older homes that have not had new panels installed yet can be very limited on the amount of power that can come in. We see lots of homes that only have 125 Amps of service and the panel is already full. In that case, you may need to add a subpanel or upgrade your panel to a larger size. We are happy to come and advise you on the best way to add to your new project.
Will installing a new outlet be messy?
We may make a little bit of dust and debris as we wire in your new outlet but we will always clean up after ourselves! Our goal is to treat your home like it was our home.
Will there need to be any drywall repair or paint?
This is very dependent on the circumstances but sometimes this is needed. We do work with professional painters to make sure your home is taken care of.
What if there is plumbing or other items in the way?
Unity is a full-service turnkey provider. We will handle anything and everything necessary to accomplish your new dedicated outlet.
My home inspection said I really need a dedicated circuit for my appliance. Is that true?
Yes, certain appliances are supposed to be on dedicated circuits that do not share their power with anything else, for example, Electric dryers, High-level microwaves, Electric ranges/stovetops, and Dishwashers are all supposed to be on their own dedicated circuit, and outlet according to Houston code! During our whole home safety inspections we will make sure to point out any potentially hazardous areas and offer our expert advice on them.
